Meeting time calculator
Calculate meeting duration, elapsed time, and time remaining from a start and end time. Free meeting-time calculator for back-to-back calls.
How the meeting time calculator works
Enter when the meeting starts and ends. The tool shows three numbers in minutes: the meeting length, how many minutes have passed since it started, and how many remain. Before the meeting starts, the elapsed time is 0 and the minutes left equal the full length. After it ends, minutes left show 0. The numbers refresh every minute. If the end is before the start, the length shows 0.
Common meeting lengths
| Length | Minutes | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Quick check-in | 15 | Status updates and standups |
| Short meeting | 25 | Leaves time before the next one |
| Half hour | 30 | One-to-ones, small decisions |
| Short hour | 50 | A full agenda with a buffer |
| One hour | 60 | Workshops and planning |
| Ninety minutes | 90 | Deep dives, with a break |
Keeping a meeting to time
- Start the agenda with the clock. Share the end time so everyone sees the limit.
- Check at the halfway mark. If half the minutes are gone and half the agenda is left, you are on track.
- Protect the last five minutes for decisions and next steps.
To count hours between two times, use hours between two dates, or time between two times for clock times. If you are scheduling across time zones, use the time zone meeting planner.
