Count the exact number of working days (Monday–Friday) between any two dates - no weekends included.
How this business day count works
The calculator counts Monday to Friday and skips Saturdays and Sundays. It includes the start date and stops before the end date, the way you would count working days on a calendar: from Monday, November 2, 2026 to Monday, November 30, 2026 is exactly four working weeks, so the result is 20 business days. If you enter the dates the other way round, it swaps them for you, and it also shows the calendar days and weekend days in the range.
It walks through the range one day at a time instead of using the rough "days × 5 ÷ 7" shortcut, which can be off by a day or two depending on where the weekends fall.

These are weekdays before public holidays. A month always has between 20 and 23 of them, and a whole year has 260, 261 or 262, depending on the weekday it starts on and whether it is a leap year.
Public holidays
Holidays differ by country, state and employer, so the calculator does not remove them. Subtract the ones that fall on weekdays in your range. For example, in the US the range above contains two federal holidays, Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11 and Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26, which leaves 18 working days.
Going the other way
If you know the number of business days and need the date, use the business days from a date tool. For example, 30 business days after Monday, October 19, 2026 is Monday, November 30, 2026, before any holidays.
Common uses
- Contracts and legal deadlines: "within 30 business days" is a common clause.
- Shipping estimates: most couriers quote delivery in business days.
- Project planning: turn calendar time into the working days you actually have.
- Notice periods: some employment and tenancy notices are counted in working days.

Questions
Does the business days calculator include the start and end dates?
It includes the start date and excludes the end date. From one Monday to the next Monday counts as 5 business days.
Does it count public holidays?
No. It counts every Monday to Friday. Subtract any public holidays that fall on weekdays in your range, since they differ by country and region.
How many business days are in a year?
Between 260 and 262 weekdays, before public holidays. 2027 has 261.
How many business days are in a month?
Between 20 and 23 weekdays, depending on the length of the month and the weekday it starts on.
