How this vacation countdown works
Enter your departure and return dates. The tool shows three numbers: the days until you leave, the whole weeks in that gap, and the length of the trip. The days until departure are rounded up, so on the day before you leave it shows 1, and on the day itself it shows 0.
The trip length is the return date minus the departure date, which is the number of nights you are away. A trip that leaves on a Friday and returns the following Friday is 7 trip days, even though it spans 8 calendar days.

A simple pre-trip checklist by weeks left
- Eight weeks or more: check passport validity and visa rules, since renewals can take weeks.
- Four to six weeks: book accommodation and any tours that sell out.
- Two weeks: arrange pet or house care, and tell your bank if you will use your card abroad.
- One week: check the forecast, download offline maps and tickets, start a packing list.
- The day before: online check-in, charge your devices, confirm transport to the airport or station.
Put the trip on your Home Screen
- Install Left on your iPhone, open Ahead and tap Add a date ahead, then New date.
- Name it your trip and set Starts to the departure date.
- Set Until to your return date so the trip has an end as well as a start.
- Save, then add Left’s Ahead widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen and pick the date in Edit Widget.

How many days until my vacation?
Enter your departure date above. The count is rounded up, so it shows 0 on the day you leave.

Does the tool include the departure day?
The days-until count stops at the departure date. The trip length counts nights, so it does not add an extra day for the return.
