Left Planner: Your Day in One View
Planner is Left's day view. It puts your calendar events, Apple Reminders, Todoist tasks and a short daily summary of weather and Apple Health data in one place, next to the habits, streaks, Aims and Ahead dates you already track in Left. It's built to make the day visible, not to become another task system.
Planner is part of Left Premium. On the free plan, opening Planner shows a sample ("This is how Planner looks") so you can see how it works before upgrading. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.

What Planner can show
Every source can be turned on or off, so Planner shows as much or as little as you want:
- Apple Calendars: events from the calendars you choose.
- Apple Reminders: reminders from the lists you choose.
- Todoist: tasks from your Todoist account, once you connect it.
- Habits, Streaks, Aims and Ahead dates from Left.
- Summary: the weather for the day you're viewing, plus sleep, steps, workouts and mindful time from Apple Health, and fasting if you use it.
You can move from day to day, jump to any date, and use View as to switch between a list, a week and a month layout.
More than a view
Planner isn't read-only. From the day view you can:
- Tick off an Apple Reminder or a Todoist task. The change is saved to Reminders or Todoist.
- Log a habit by tapping its symbol. Habits tracked automatically with Apple Health fill in on their own.
- Add a new reminder or calendar event with the + button.
- Open any item to see its details.
Setting up Planner
The first time you open Planner, a Set up your Planner card lets you choose how Planner looks, what it shows, and which services it can use.
- Open Planner. If it isn't in your bottom menu, it's behind the tools button. You can pin it, or make it the tool Left opens first, with Choose your tools.
- Under Connect services, allow or decline each one: Calendars, Reminders, Apple Health, Location and Todoist. iOS asks for each permission only when you choose to allow it.
- Under Show in Planner, pick what appears: Summary, Calendars, Reminders, Todoist, Habits, Streaks, Aims and Ahead.
- Tap Start using Planner.
What each permission is for:
- Calendars shows your events. It also lets Left save Ahead dates to your calendar.
- Reminders shows your Apple Reminders.
- Apple Health shows workouts, steps, sleep and mindfulness for each day.
- Location shows the weather for the days you view.
If you decline something, Planner works with what you allowed. You can turn access on later in the iOS Settings app.
Fine-tune it in Settings
In Left's Settings, the Planner section lets you adjust the details:
- Set up Calendars and Set up Reminders choose which calendars and lists appear. Useful for keeping work meetings off a personal Planner.
- Set up Todoist connects your Todoist account. Left opens Todoist's own sign-in page to do it.
- Cards order sets the order of the Summary, Schedule, Habits, Streaks, Aims and Ahead dates sections.
- Summary toggles turn Weather, Sleep, Steps, Workouts, Mindful time and Fasting on or off.
- Time format switches between relative and absolute times, and you can show or hide Completed items and Extra details.
- Badge for remaining items shows what's left today on Left's app icon.
The Planner widget
The Planner widget comes in small, medium and large sizes and shows today's events and reminders. Edit the widget to add Todoist tasks, habits, streaks and Aims, and to choose whether all-day events and reminders appear, whether completed items stay visible, and whether it shows a count of remaining items.
The widget is interactive: tap a reminder's or a habit's symbol to complete it right from the Home Screen. Tap a row to open that item in Planner. For Home Screen setup, see the widget guide.
Tips
- Use Apple Reminders or Todoist for to-dos and Apple Calendar for anything with a time. Planner puts both next to your habits, so you see the whole day at once.
- Start small. Turn on the sources you actually check, then add more if you miss them.
- If you open Left mainly to plan your day, set Planner as the default tool in Choose your tools.
- Pair the Planner widget with a countdown widget for the dates you're working toward, or use Left's habit tracker widgets for the routines you want to keep.
